The controlled consolidation step, applied to a biologically activated feedstock, produces panels that are dense, dimensionally stable, and mechanically robust across the parameters relevant to joinery, furniture manufacturing, and panel applications. Surface hardness, machinability, edge quality, and the ability to accept veneers, laminates, and paint finishes are all engineered into the panel through process calibration — not through the presence of synthetic binders.
Biodegradability is a designed-in property, not a consequence of weak performance. The panels are built to perform throughout their service life and to decompose through natural biological processes once that life ends. This is the material logic of a circular economy, expressed in panel form.
